Jonah's new album, "Lights On" produced by Malcolm Burn and recorded in Kingston, NY will be released on Voluptuary Records and distributed by Redeye. The album will be available in stores on August 18th.

Jonah is heading out to the Midwest for a handful of shows with guitar virtuoso, Andy Mckee as well as a few headlining shows. On the tour with him will be special guest, guitars/singer Doug Wamble.

Jonah is in the studio right now with producer Malcolm Burn working on his new album. Due out in early 2009.

Jonah will be playing this March at the 2008 Langerado Music Festival on the Big Cypress Indian Reservation in South Florida. Other bands include The Meters, Dr. Dog, Martin Sexton, REM, Gov't Mule, and the Beastie Boys, et. al.

Jonah will be opening for Martin Sexton throughout April. East Coast, Mid West and West Coast including a NYC show and a special Easter performance in Jonah and Martin's hometown - Syracuse, NY! This is Martin's first tour with his new band.

Peter Gabriel, Afrika Bambaataa, Paul Oakenfold, Bill Frisell, Buddy Guy and McCoy Tyner were among those on a judging panel that selected the winners of the 6th Annual Independent Music Awards. A range of artists in such genres as America, Blues, Folk/ Singer-Songwriter and Jam were honored in both the Album and Song categories. "My Morning Scene" was selected in the Folk/ Singer-Songwriter song category while the top Folk/Singer-Songwriter album was Dan Bern’s Breathe. A full list of winners can be found on the IMA Site

Jonah was recently nominated for two Independent Music Awards-- Song: My Morning Scene; and Album: Jonah Smith.
Jonah's recent acoustic café performance will air nationwide the week of October 23rd. Check www.acafe.com for a list of stations broadcasting the performance. It will also air at http://www.mlive.com/cafe/ for the next few months.
Make sure to tune in to The Spectrum (channel 18) on Sirius Satellite Radio on August 23rd at 4:00 pm EST to hear Jonah's session. Tracks from the performance can also be heard in rotation on The Coffeehouse (channel 30).
Jonah and the band recently taped a live session at WXPN in Philadelphia with Radio Host David Dye. They played several of the new songs and David interviewed Jonah inbetween.
The World Cafe will be broadcasting the session on Tuesday, July 18th 2006.
